A driver in Beijing has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for dragging a toll collector in a parking lot to his death, Beijing Times reported.

Yang Xue'ou, 30, refused to pay 30 yuan ($4.80) to the toll collector surnamed Ding and accelerated away with the collector holding the door of her car.

Yang was charged with intentional homicide and was ordered to pay 43,000 yuan to the victim's family.

Yang's father was also sentenced to one year's probation for sending his daughter to another location to hide.
