A former official who was previously involved in a sex tape scandal was sentenced to 13 years in jail for bribery at the No 1 Intermediate People's Court in Chongqing municipality on Friday.

Lei Zhengfu, former Party chief of Chongqing's Beibei district, was accused of taking 3.16 million yuan ($514,892) in bribes. Lei said he will discuss an appeal with his lawyer.

Lei's sex tape, secretly filmed by the woman he had sex with in the tape, appeared online in November 2012. Zhao Hongxia, the woman in the tape, was hired by a real estate company head.
