BEIJING -- The following is a biographical sketch of Yan Junqi, who was just elected vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) on Saturday: Yan Junqi Female, born in August 1946, ethnic Han, native of Suzhou of Jiangsu Province. Graduated from oceanic engineering school of Technical University of Denmark and got her doctorate in engineering. Started working in September 1967. Professor.
