Kids cheered up by festival moms(CRI)Updated: 2007-02-22 09:26 The local government of Anyuan County in Jiangxi Province is encouraging citizens to spend the Spring Festival with migrant workers' children. China National Radio reports that separated by age, hobbies and personality by their schools, people can sign up to add some joy to the life of a child left home alone this holiday season. Sun Tingting, one such child, is not lonely, since her Spring Festival mom celebrated Lunar New Year's eve together with her. With the sound of firecrackers and the smell of boiled meat, the festive atmosphere has surrounded her this holiday season. Greeting her parents in Guangdong via phone, she expressed her thanks to her Spring Festival mom for including her in her family's celebration. It is said that in Anyuan as many as fifty thousand migrant workers work in other places. A number of them can't return home to spend Spring Festival with their children. The local government organized Spring Festival Moms to ensure these children have a joyous holiday. A total of 329 children spent the festival with their special moms.
