Insurers' donations total over 450m yuan

The insurance industry has donated as much as 453 million yuan ($65.93 million) for the May 12 Sichuan earthquake as of June 11, according to the China Insurance Regulatory Commission.

Insurers donated 282 million yuan to disaster areas, its employees 165 million yuan, insurance intermediaries 1.86 million yuan, intermediary staff 1.74 million yuan and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission and its branches 2.37 million yuan.

Chinese insurers and their staff donated 303 million yuan, foreign-funded insurers and their staff 22.56 million yuan and insurers in other countries or regions 122 million yuan.
