New stars shine 2008 Coach Week

The Busworld Asian Coach Week 2008 opened between March 11 and 14 in Shanghai. Chinese bus manufacturers brought their newest coach and bus models to the exhibition.

Yangman Coach

Yangman Coach Company, owned by China's Youngman Automobile Group, will exhibit its JNP6120S, the JNP6122G, and JNP6140G models.

The luxury airship-shaped JNP6120S is a double-decker business coach. The upper deck has 40 leather seats and LCD televisions for each seat. The bar-like lower floor can be separated into small boxes and it has refrigerator, microwave oven, water dispenser and cell phone charger. The coach is also equipped with GPS navigation and on-board monitoring systems.

The JNP6122G is the latest Yangman streamline bus with a unitary construction body, which simultaneously promises high solidity and low weight, and the JNP 6140 is an airport shuttle produced under cooperation with Man-owned German Neoplan.

Golden Dragon

Xiamen Golden Dragon Van Co Ltd has prepared five independently designed coaches and buses the XML 6145J23, the XML6125J93C, the XML6897J13, the XML6127-08 and the XML6180BRT.

The XML6145J23 is a large-sized dual rear-axle luxury coach. With a unitary construction body, it boasts a weight of only 16 tons in dead weight, the lightest among its counterparts. In addition to its highly fuel-efficient engine, its anti-lock braking system, acceleration slip regulation, and 8-airbag suspension system all help improve driving smoothness and stability.

The hybrid-powered city coach XML 6125J93C has introduced the US variable voltage variable frequency (VVVF) control technique, which can save 25 to 35 percent fuel consumption and cut 25 to 30 percent of emissions from equivalent traditional diesel coach emissions.

The XML6897J13 is the third generation middle range coach from Golden Dragon, and the XML6127-08, which has withstood the harshest European rollover standards, is the latest model of the XML6127 series large luxury coach. The 18-meter long bullet-shaped bus rapid transit (BRT) model XML6180BRT has a maximum capacity of 174 passengers.

Xiamen Golden Dragon Van Co Ltd also showed its first unitized frame from its cathodic electrophoresis line, an investment in which the automaker has spent more than 100 million yuan.
