E-air travel insurance hits marketBy Dai Yan (chinadaily.com.cn)Updated: 2006-10-23 08:56 Electronic air travel insurance policies are expected to take the place of traditional paper policies and be sold together with electronic air tickets. The E-policy has been launched by Air Union Insurance Brokers Co Ltd, Tianqin Insurance Brokers (Beijing) Co and International Air Transport Association in cooperation with over 20 domestic insurance companies. E-ticket buyers can make their own choices in insurance companies. It is noticeable that two of the initiators are professional insurance broker companies. Air Union Insurance Brokers was jointly established by 13 large State-owned enterprises such as China Airlines, China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines in August 2004 and ranked among the top six insurance brokers nationwide by commission income in 2005.
