A delegation from Uzbekistan's Navoi region, led by Governor Normat Tursunov, concluded a two-day visit to Fujian province on March 18. This visit underscores a broadening partnership between these two pivotal nodes of the Belt and Road Initiative, advancing a shared agenda across industrial technology, trade, and cultural exchange.
During the visit, the delegation and local officials inaugurated the Navoi Region Exhibition and Trade Platform in Nan'an city. This strategic facility serves as a primary gateway for high-quality stone products from the Navoi region entering the Chinese market, while enabling Nanan — a global stone processing hub — to project its industrial expertise across Central Asia.
The delegation also conducted field visits to high-tech facilities in Nan'an, including Fujian Qunfeng Machinery and JOMOO's Eco-Friendly Dark Factory, to catalyze joint ventures in trade, industrial parks, artificial intelligence, and tourism.
These engagements reflect a broader momentum in subnational diplomacy. Throughout 2025, Fujian maintained close and pragmatic exchanges with Uzbekistan, including participation in the Uzbekistan-China Regional Cooperation Forum and meetings with Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China Farhod Arziev, Samarkand region's Governor Adiz Boboev, and Syrdarya region's Governor Erkin Turdimov, among others. Delegations from the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee and Samarkand region paid a return visit to Fujian. Deputy Prime Minister for Trade and Investment Jamshid Khodjaev led a delegation to attend the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade.
