Parkway Shanghai Hospital by Parkway Shanghai, IHH Healthcare's operating entity on the Chinese mainland, inaugurated its international hepatobiliary and pancreatic diagnosis and treatment center on Saturday, marking a significant step toward establishing the hospital as a leading hub for comprehensive treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases in Asia.

Leveraging IHH Healthcare's international resources, Parkway Shanghai Hospital has collaborated with the University of Hong Kong, Japan's Keio University, Shanghai First People's Hospital, and the Wu Mengchao Foundation to establish the center. This initiative represents an innovative practice in medical collaboration between public and private hospitals and aims to harness global expertise for the benefit of patients, said medical experts.

The center focuses on hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeries, integrating resources from gastroenterology, oncology, critical care, interventional ultrasound, and pathology to build a systematic treatment platform. The hospital said that by bringing together renowned experts at home and abroad, it strives to create a diversified international treatment platform that encompasses preventive medicine, precision diagnosis, and non-invasive and minimally invasive technologies.

As a pilot demonstration base for international medical tourism in the city, Parkway Shanghai Hospital said it will continuously introduce cutting-edge treatment concepts and global technological expertise through IHH Healthcare's extensive network, and offer high-quality and diverse treatment services for patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, among others, in the Yangtze River Delta region as well as the Asia-Pacific as a whole.
