"HIMARS on Taiwan is just like a porcupine in a glass box," said military expert Fu Zhengnan. He pointed out that while HIMARS was designed for wide, open terrain to exploit its "shoot-and-scoot" capability, Taiwan's narrow and mountainous geography turns this high mobility into something "largely theoretical". "It can’t run, can’t hide, and can’t maneuver freely," Fu warned.
