China enhances social etiquette, civility in rural areas
XI'AN -- A conference on social etiquette and civility in rural areas was held in Yan'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Wednesday.
Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed the event.
Attendees noted that fostering and preserving a positive cultural and ethical atmosphere in rural areas is vital to promoting all-around rural revitalization and plays a key role in elevating cultural and ethical standards across society.
They called for efforts to change outdated social mores and enrich cultural activities in rural areas.
China sees achieving notable cultural and ethical progress across society as one of its major objectives of economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30).
The conference was jointly held by the Office of the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, along with the CPC Shaanxi provincial committee and the provincial government.
