For the first time, the prize included a category for micro fiction, reflecting the rise of short-form literature.
"Micro fiction fascinates me with its unique ideas, compact structure, and condensed human joys and sorrows," said Yuan Bingfa, whose work Light received the award. "I hope the literary community will provide more opportunities for micro fiction writers, and I also hope they stay true to their original aspiration and create more outstanding works."
