Launched in 2022 by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, Run Girls was created in response to growing public enthusiasm for fitness and running. It has since become a signature event of the Beijing Olympic City Sports and Cultural Festival, gaining influence as a dedicated platform for female runners.
