A historical photo exhibit dedicated to the Flying Tigers opened simultaneously in the Guangdong cities of Guangzhou and Dongguan on Thursday in celebration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The presentation can be found at the Sun Yat-sen Library in Guangzhou and the Dongguan Library through the end of August. It covers the stories of teamwork between the Chinese and American militaries and civilians against Japanese aggression. Attendees will learn about the more than 1,400 American youth from Taishan, Guangdong, who joined the Flying Tigers and returned to China to participate in the war.

The exhibit also recounts a mission wherein the Dongjiang Column guerrilla force rescued members of the Flying Tigers, and the story of the unit's maritime resistance against Japan in the Pacific theater.

The exhibit features 107 historical pictures and 10 historical objects related to the Flying Tigers. They are supplemented with a collection of books about the war.

At the opening ceremony, Jeffrey Greene, chairman of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, felt honored to speak at the exhibit, which "so eloquently and so powerfully speaks to the timeless truth of the remarkable relationship that developed between the people of China and the people of the United States, during the darkest days of the World War II".

Greene awarded the title of Flying Tigers Friendship School to four schools in Guangdong.

The schools have joined the Flying Tigers Friendship School project to carry out Sino-US youth exchanges and cultivate new Flying Tigers members.

The photo exhibit is jointly held by the Guangdong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, and the Guangzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
