Changchun implements automated restaurants for senior citizens
To meet the diverse dining needs of its elderly citizens, Changchun, the capital of Jilin province, has established a meal assistance service network that covers urban and rural areas, with a rational layout and a shared construction model, ensuring convenient, affordable, and secure dining experiences for the elderly.
A restaurant in Changchun's Zhongxincheng community is part of the program. A steady stream of community seniors visit the restaurant as it is just few minutes walk from home.
The restaurant utilizes robots for cooking, employing AI technology to accurately prepare ingredients and seasonings and stir-frying dishes within 3-5 minutes.
Additionally, the restaurant has implemented an automated food-weighing pick-up line, allowing the elderly to pick up trays, weigh their meals, and settle payments seamlessly.
Changchun now operates over 600 elderly care restaurants, offering senior citizens an average discount of 6-7 percent on meals.
