Wuhan and Hubei have produced prominent figures in Chinese contemporary art, although for a long time, the centers of the scene have been cities like Beijing and Shanghai.
The festival demonstrates the rise of a young, local art community that not only celebrates Wuhan's cultural inheritance, but also their ambition to be more active on the art scene.
