The show is based around six talented singers — Chen Chusheng, Lu Hu, Su Xing, Wang Yuexin, Wang Zhengliang and Zhang Yuan — whose enduring friendship, forged during the 2007 singing competition Super Boy, has withstood nearly 18 years of career highs and lows, including financial struggles. With self-deprecating humor, they playfully refer to themselves as "once jobless singers now reemployed".

This season featured the show's first overseas location in Dubai, where the six singers engaged in cultural experiences, such as trekking through the desert for six hours and volunteering as Chinese-language teachers at a charity school.
