This year's Government Work Report stated that China will establish a mechanism to increase funding for industries of the future such as biomanufacturing, quantum technology, embodied artificial intelligence and 6G technology.

The rapid advancement of AI technology is accelerating the research and implementation of embodied intelligence, a critical component of future industries. However, it is essential to recognize that a market ecosystem allowing for the free flow of talent is the key driver for the booming embodied intelligence industry.

The development of embodied intelligence requires collaboration among universities, research institutes and enterprises to achieve breakthroughs in key technological areas such as core algorithms, environmental perception and fine manipulation. The free flow of talent is undoubtedly fostering greater communication and collaboration among industry, academia and research in China's frontier technologies.

While establishing a funding mechanism for future industries is important, talent remains the most critical factor in driving development. Investing in people goes beyond providing educational resources or financial support; it involves creating an ecosystem conducive to talent development. By promoting talent flows across industry, academia and research, a more interconnected innovation ecosystem can be established.

It is imperative to establish a talent evaluation system that prioritizes capability and contribution to stimulate innovation. For instance, special funds can be allocated to support forward-looking research projects with practical applications. Simultaneously, broader career development pathways should be provided for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to technological innovation and social services.

Talent is one of the core drivers of economic and social development. Future industrial investment strategies should prioritize "investing in people", as this lays the foundation for high-quality economic growth. By fostering a talent-centric ecosystem, China can unlock its full potential in innovation and secure a leading position in the global technological landscape.
