Delivery sector ramps up efforts ensuring safety
As the Spring Festival approaches, the delivery sector is intensifying its efforts to ensure the safe handling and transportation of parcels, particularly with regard to the prevention of fireworks and firecrackers from entering the delivery channels, according to a recent meeting held by the State Post Bureau of China.
The meeting aimed to reinforce safety delivery, requiring all enterprises to rectifying risks and hidden dangers, and pay more attention to prevent major accidents.
The bureau has required local postal management departments and express delivery companies to take measures to prevent the inflow of flammable and explosive items, such as fireworks and firecrackers, into the delivery network. This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to ensure the safety and security of both the parcels being transported and the employees involved in the delivery process.
The Spring Festival falls on Feb 10 this year. People like to light fireworks and firecrackers to celebrate the New Year. The Spring Festival is also the off-peak season for parcel delivery sector when most couriers go home to spend the holiday with their families.
