Anyang city is famous for its rich historical and cultural heritage, as it was one of the early centers of Chinese civilization. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Yin Ruins (or Yinxu site), which is considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites in China. Anyang is also known as the "Capital of Chinese Characters" due to its close association with the development of the Chinese writing system.
