6. Xi arrives in Hong Kong for anniversary celebrations

Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan wave to the welcoming crowd upon their arrival in Hong Kong on June 30, 2022. In the following days, he would attend a meeting celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the inaugural ceremony of the sixth-term government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on July 1. He would also inspect the HKSAR.
