China is projected to be among the fastest-growing economies until at least 2030, with an annual growth rate at about 5.82 percent, following Uganda, Cambodia and Tanzania, according to a report by the Growth Lab at Harvard University released this July.

As the effects of the pandemic dissipate, long-term growth is expected to take-off between Asia, Eastern Europe and East Africa.

The research finds that countries that have diversified their production into more complex sectors, like Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Malaysia and India, are those who will experience the fastest growth in the coming decade.

In East Africa, several economies are seeing rapid growth driven more by population growth than by gains in economic complexity.
