Anhui reports new cases, all within quarantined zones
Anhui province reported 11 locally transmitted confirmed cases and 71 local asymptomatic carriers for COVID-19 on Saturday, the provincial Health Commission said on Sunday morning.
Of all the new infections, 10 confirmed cases and all new asymptomatic carriers were identified in Sixian county, the province's epicenter since June 26.
Governed by Suzhou, the county had achieved zero-COVID status at community level for three days as of Sunday morning and all Saturday's new cases were found in quarantined locations, the Suzhou epidemic control headquarters said on Sunday.
According to a public letter published by the Sixian government, people from high-risk areas should still stay home and all essential services would be provided, while residents from medium-risk areas should not leave their communities if unnecessary.
