The main peak, Yuntai peak, is 814 meters above sea level and surrounded by steep mountains, with cliffs on three sides. Yuntai temple, built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) was constructed on the scarce flat ground of Yuntai peak.
Bajiaozhai village which has many strange peaks and canyons, towering ancient trees and spectacular scenery, displays the Danxia landform featuring reddish sandstone, high cliffs and various shapes. It has become a major tourist attraction.
