Multinational industrial companies are showcasing critical technologies during the fourth China International Import Expo, hoping to grow along with the market by doubling down on local investment.

German technology company Heraeus, a four-time CIIE participant, is showcasing a series of integrated circuit solutions during the fair.

The company provides key materials and solutions in this strategic sector, covering wafer fabrication, packaging, testing and end-use applications.

"We aim to help gather global resources and build an IC industry chain ecosystem, as well as promote the innovation and development of enterprises in related fields. We hope to solve bottlenecks such as shortages of high-end chips in China," said Ai Zhouping, president of Heraeus China.

Ai said the CIIE manages to bring together all relevant stakeholders, which is a huge boon to business confidence. The company has decided to sign up for the fifth edition.

Focusing on key technologies to facilitate China's carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, United States conglomerate Honeywell displayed technologies applied in such areas as aviation, smart manufacturing, smart buildings and warehousing and logistics during the expo.

For instance, a flight simulator at the Honeywell booth is equipped with innovative products and technologies in the aviation field. It provides the aircraft's operational data based on Honeywell's connected aircraft solutions, which helps airlines improve operational efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint using data analysis based on the integrated platform of safety data.
