Video of baby's rescue after rain in Henan goes viral
The video of a four-month-old baby rescued from a building that collapsed after torrential rain hit Xingyang city, Henan province, has gone viral on Chinese social media on Thursday. Many say it helps them see hope in the most difficult times.
The baby girl had been buried under a building which suddenly collapsed in the landslides at least from 8 pm on Tuesday. Seen from the video taken around 5 pm on Wednesday, members of the Blue Sky Rescue team formed a line and passed the baby out of the rubble as she was crying loudly during the process.
The baby is now hospitalized and her mother is still missing. Many people left comments on social media, saying they were in tears after seeing the video and hoping the child's mother can be rescued soon.
Although rescue workers have arrived at the village to carry out search and rescue missions, they still have difficulty transporting the most needed large equipment to the scene because roads to the village have been cut off, a member of the Blue Sky Rescue team told local media on Thursday.
