Some people spend lots of time and money chasing their dream to see the northern lights, but one lucky photographer has captured the phenomenon right from his doorstep.

The aurora borealis, or northern lights, are caused by collisions between electrically charged particles released from the sun that enter the earths atmosphere and collide with gases such as oxygen and nitrogen.
