Fanjing Mountain literally means “pure mountain”, and Buddhists hope visitors who see the beautiful scene on the mountain are so moved by what they witness their souls are purified.
The mountain was added to UNESCO's world natural heritage list in July because of its diverse plants, forests, endangered wildlife and unique landscapes.
