A number of theater groups from across the world staged their musical productions in the southern city of Daegu from June 22 to July 8 at the 12th Daegu International Musical Festival.
Chinese musical, Mr and Mrs Single, won the Best International Musical award at the event.
The show, produced by Ovation Drama Club Culture Development Cooperation, was based on the 2010 drama with the same title directed by Li Bonan.
The drama was also adapted into a movie with the same title in 2013, directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Patrick Kong and starring Taiwan actress Rene Liu and Hong Kong singer-actor Eason Chan.
The romantic-comedy tackles the Chinese social phenomenon of secret marriages for young couples looking for better jobs and higher income.
It premiered at Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in Beijing in 2017. And the musical, directed by Gao Ruijia has toured around the country with more than 50 shows being held.
