CPC member: Woman bus driver leads by example
No stop for serving people
The Line 36 she serves was launched in August 2014. The 17.5 km route takes around 55 minutes for a single-trip to its terminal, the Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center. "The bus has terminal stations, but there is no terminal station for serving people," said Chen.
Chen is honored to be elected as a delegate and cherishes this opportunity to attend the 19th National Congress of the CPC, and also realizes the heavy responsibility on her shoulders.
"I watch China Central Television's daily news broadcast at 7 pm every day to catch on current events, if I'm not on the night shift," Chen said. She also spends every minute during her spare time to study President Xi Jinping's speeches and learn from former delegates. "I am collecting as much public opinions as possible and will bring the voices of the grassroots to Beijing."
The bus of Line 36 has become a window of Chen to solicit opinions on the frontline. As a two-time delegate of the provincial party congress, she also set up a delegate workshop and solicits opinions in communities, schools, and enterprises.
So far, Chen has solved more than 100 problems for local people, on her own or in cooperation with higher Party organizations, and contributed her own suggestions in solving local traffic gridlocks.
"I will do my best at work and serve the people, and make my own contribution to the upcoming 19th National Congress of the CPC," said Chen.
